Dunloup Creek WV Trout
Dunloup Creek is approximately 5 miles of trout streams near Dewitt located in Fayette County, West Virginia. Dunloup Creek WV Trout is stocked once a month from February to May of every year. Dunloup is stocked from the mouth of Dunloup upstream 3.5 miles to Harvey, WV. You can fish Dunloup year round where you may be able to land a few holdovers. The stream is stocked by the DNR and they put in rainbows, brooks, golden and brown rainbows. Dunloup offers some narrow waters with some nice pools of water where you can catch some fish. WV DNR has stocked Dunloup Creek over the years with brown fingerlings so hopefully they survive and mature so anglers can catch them in years to come.
Dunloup Creek Falls
The Dunloup creek falls is an awesome waterfall of about 20 feet tall in Fayette County close to Thurmond, WV. Dunloup Creek flows into the New River just south of Thurmond's train station. To visit Dunloup Creek Falls, take the West Virginia Turnpike to Exit 60 (Mossy). Once you exit, turn left onto Route 612 for about 7.5 miles to Scarbro Road, and turn right onto Scarbro Road for about 2 miles. Continue onto Glen Jean Lane and then take a left onto McKell Avenue before turning left onto Thurmond Road for about 4 miles, where the waterfall will be on your right. There is parking available along the road so you can get out and see the falls.
Dunloup is close to the towns of Oak Hill, Fayetteville and Beckley, West Virginia. Dunloup creek flows into the New River at Thurmond which is part of the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. You can see a lot of history along this creek of old coal mining towns that now are tourist destinations in southern West Virginia.
WV Fishing Regulations

Fishing with multiple lines is illegal, as well as using bait not native to Dunloup Creek or its tributaries. Finally, it’s important to note that all creel limits on trout must remain within designated areas; possession of more than 6 fish outside of those areas is illegal and carries steep consequences for violators.
